Both the Kenai and Kasilof Rivers are
located near the town of Soldotna, Alaska in the center of the Kenai
Peninsula. Soldotna is located about 150 miles south of Anchorage on
the Sterling Highway, a scenic 3 hour drive or a short 20 minute flight.
If you have the time, we encourage everyone
to make the drive down from Anchorage. The road is paved and
offers many scenic stops. However, there are a number of commuter
flights each day from Anchorage to the nearby town of Kenai.
Rental cars are available in either Anchorage or Kenai.
If your fishing the Kasilof River, there is
only one state park boat launch. It is located 12 miles south of
Soldotna on the Sterling Highway, mile marker 109.5. The boat
launch is located directly under the bridge and is accessed 100 yards
south of the bridge. There are a handful of takeouts, but only one
launch. If your fishing the Kasilof, this is where you will meet
your guide.
