"About the Guide"

     Mike Wheat is an experienced guide with over 25 years experience fishing the Kenai and Kasilof rivers.  He has been guiding professionally since 1995 and is USCG licensed and insured. 

     Mike is a local guide and lives in the area year round.  He grew up on the banks of the Kenai River and has fished these rivers since childhood.  He began running his own boat by the age of 14.  By the time he turned 17 he began taking drift boat charters.  Since then he has taken people fishing from all over the world.  This isn't just a hobby to him, this is his business.  This is his sole source of income, not a second job or something he does in his free time.

     Mike takes pride in his work and will do everything possible to make your trip as enjoyable and successful as possible.  Whether this is a once in a lifetime trip or your 20th trip he will work hard and do everything possible to put you on the fish.  Over half of his business is from repeat clients.
